Haveri, May 2: Former chief minister and BJP candidate from Haveri Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday sought to know the achievements of the ministers in the last one year and how much drought relief had been given from the state treasury.
Addressing a series of campaign in Haveri taluk on Thursday, he said the state has witnessed a severe drought and the incumbent government was not paying the farmers from the state treasury but pointing the fingers at the government of India.
The state government did not have anything to fend itself. There is no development in last ten months as they have no plans for it. They have stopped the scheme of Kisan Sanman of giving Rs 4000 to each farmer as well as the Raitha Vidya Nidhi and Yashaswini.
“This Anti farmer government must be kicked out. The ministers owe reply on the works done in their respective departments in the last ten months. They have not paid the students hostel fees or sink the borewells to provide water. This government was as good as dead,” he said.
Bommai said there was no safety for the women in the state. A minority woman has been sexually assaulted and a college student had been murdered in the college campus.
The government was not concerned about Dalits and their money had been diverted to guarantee implementation. Not all have got 200 units of power, no implementation of the Yuva Nidhi and they had been telling lies to people.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided vaccines to everyone during the COVID pandemic. Even the Congress leaders have taken the vaccine. To repay the favour of saving lives, we must vote for Modi. To repay Modi, who has provided water to every household, we must vote for the BJP. Modi, who provides 5 kg of rice to every family, must be voted for by the BJP. Every vote should be for making Modi the Prime Minister again,” he said.
Bommai said the Vidya Nidhi Scheme has been implemented for the children of weavers. But the Congress government stopped all the schemes.
