Udupi, May 2: MLA Yashpal Suvarna has requested the union ministry of petroleum to supply CNG on a continuous basis to the district.

“As CNG is in short supply in the CNG bunks in the district, auto drivers are made to wait for fuel refill for hours. The ministry of petroleum should ensure supply of CNG continuously to the district,” he stated in a tweet.

“More than a thousand autos and other vehicles depend on CNG fuel in the district and are facing CNG scarcity,” he stated.

“The number of CNG vehicles has increased substantially. The vehicle drivers and auto drivers leave their passengers and wait in front of the bunks,” he stated.

“The union minister of petroleum and senior officials will be holding a meeting in this connection and try sincerely to solve the problem,” states a press release.

Udupi District is going through shortage of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for the Automotive Applications.
