Haveri-Gadag, May 3: BJP leader B S Yediyurappa has threatened to launch a State-wide agitation if the Siddaramaiah government does not waive farm loans.
Addressing an election campaign meeting in favour of BJP candidate Basavaraj Bommai, the senior BJP leader said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been working without taking even a single day’s break during the last 10 years for the service of the people and had worked after the cremation of his mother.
Modi is a committed leader, who has been selflessly working for the people, he said.
“With Modi’s blessings, I promise BJP will win all he 28 Lok Sabha seats in the State,” he declared and urged the people to ensure that Bommai is elected with a victory margin of over 2 lac votes to strengthen Modi’s hands.
Yediyurappa said he has visited Gajendragad in Haveri constituency several times in the past and the enthusiastic response from the people makes him confident that Bommai will win with a margin of over 2 lakh votes.
The BJP leader said Mahatma Gandhi has suggested dissolution of the Congress party after Independence. “Our leader Modiji is working for ensuring Congress-mukt Bharat. It is the duty of the people to fulfill his mission,” he said.
He said the Siddaramaiah government has cheated the farmers and demanded that the farm loans must be waived completely if it had any concern for the farmers. “I will launch a state-wide agitation if the government does not waive farm loans,” he warned.
Yediyurappa said the BJP-JDS alliance will continue even after the Lok Sabha elections and the goal of the alliance is to oust Congress from power.
