Bantwal: Windshield of running bus breaks suddenly, three injured

Bantwal, May 5: Two children and the driver of bus belonging to Kerala State Road Transport Corporation sustained injuries as the front windshield of the bus suddenly cracked at Urimajalu.

The bus was moving from Puttur to Kasargod via Vittal. As the bus reached Urimajalu society the front windshield glass of the bus got broken suddenly.

A boy of Cherkala Nellikatte was seriously injured. Driver and another child sustained minor injuries.

Seriously injured boy is admitted to hospital in Puttur.

It is said that the high summer heat must have caused the glass to crack suddenly.

    Very bad.Hope injured child will survive and get back to health.Quite possible bus windschield was very hot ,and nearby drivers waterbottle too was also hot?And bottle got exploded due to heat and touched the glas?Please be careful during such heat never keep a water bottle closed in car and keep all wind glasses closed.It explodes due to heat.Thats first lesson a driving class Tutor gives us during class.

    Busses and cars normally have shatter proof glass. Probably bus company has replaced it’s windscreen with cheap glass.

    Kerala State buses are past their service life and are in dilapidated state. Unless they replace them soon there might be more incidents of falling apart structures will be common thing with our roads and bumps as contributing factors.
