Mangalore: Dispute over Fuel Supply Grounds Kingfisher Flight

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Oct 14: A Kingfisher flight bound for Mumbai got stranded at the local airport on Thursday October 13, because of a dispute over refuelling.

The flight, which was scheduled to touch down here at 3.30 pm, arrived at around 5.30 pm. As there was some dispute over the issue of refuelling the aircraft, the flight got stranded here. People bound for various destinations in India and abroad had reserved their tickets through this flight. As the dispute did not get redressed for long, many people had to stay in different lodges and hotels in the city.

Another Kingfisher flight, which was to come here from Bangalore at 6.30 pm, too did not arrive. Passengers, who had booked their tickets to Bangalore for its return flight, were sent through Jet Airways.

It was not in Mangalore alone, but across the country that Kingfisher flights got cancelled or delayed due to lack of fuel supply. Oil companies have stopped their supply to Kingfisher due to mounting bills that the airline has failed to clear. Sources said that its dues ran into over Rs 500 crore.

Owned by the UB group of Vijay Mallya, the airline has been put on “a cash-and-carry payment option” by oil companies for the past 10 months. It means that payments have to be cleared daily for fuel and no credit or tabs are allowed.

"Sandesh, Mangalore, Oman " Thank you for showing a true meaning of being Ungrateful and ready to Hit back without even reading.

My remarks were merely regarding Mr Mallya's contibution to India and not my contribution.
Im sure that even your contibution is Zero cause you must be well settled in Oman and " WOW " you have travelled 232 times by Air in 30 years and i have never heard you name anywhere in Indias development .
Ya you are right , there are others who can develop India.... Why should you waste your time in India ??? Best go to Oman to earn quick Riyals and comment on Daijiworld.

And No -desh ...sorry Sandesh , you need not worry about my air travel cause if you see my Passport booklets and Entry / Exit stamps your travel figure of 232 would make you hang your head in shame!! And also regarding your 232 times of travel , I guess that doesnt mean anything to anyone cause you travelled for your own purpose and in your own interest .

Regarding your investment in KF shares - You are spitting venom cause the KF shares are down . But what if the shares would shoot up ?? The same boneless tounge which is spewing venom would start praising KF !!!

ON A LIGHTER NOTE : Also be happy that since you fly on Kingfisher , you can still complain !! But if would have flown AI Express , they dont even give a chance to complain )

Deepak Kumar, Mangalore, just commenting big won't do any good. It seems that you have hardly traveled by Air or someone paid for your rare flight. In last 30 years I have travellled by Air 232 times by different airlines (not a ver big figure), and KF is not something extrordinary and not chief compare to many other, even Internationanl Airlines. I have invested lot of money in King Fisher shares hoping it is a good reliable company and burnt my hands. Don't just ask how many Indians contributed to India, but just think how much and what you have contributed.

Just a few delay / Cancellation of KF flighs and our Citizens are all set to spit on the person who made life easier for Indians by introducing affordable domestic flights!!!!
Do people remember earlier as how long it would take by Road or train to reach destinations like Delhi , Bombay and Bangalore ?? After the long bus / train journey , one had to sleep for 2 days to come back to normalcy !!.
Lets also view the situation in another angle . How many times have you been late to office , college , functions ?? Im very sure on couple of occassions !! If you being single could not manage to be on time , then you should not be commenting on Kingfisher who operates more than 375 daily flights to 71 destinations.
Another point to note !!!! How many Indians have contributed to India ??? We find everyday the politicians looting India in crores but no one comments about that !!! When someone who invests his time and money in India and if few flights gets delayed or cancelled , then he becomes the target !!

Come on readers and commenters, appreciate the 99 good things Mr Mallya has contibuted , than targetting him for a couple of delays / cancellations.

Mr Mallya , Hats off to you Sir and " Thank You " for your contibutions to make India a better place !

It is always very decent to bankcrupty and sell the stakes to anyone who is eligible. Mallya is just incapable of handling King Fisher Airline? It is easy to drink King Fisher beer and dream big.

For whatever reasons Mr.Mallya started his airlines and where he made it reach in such a short time and the sheer size it has attained.Certainly the industry itself did not left kingfisher come out its intial phase of establishing itself.I really do not know how it can come out its difficult times, but surely many will lose their jobs and the indian industry will lose a n important partner.Hopefully it will come out of its trouble....

Very sad to hear about the story of KingFisher Airlines.I am one of the share holder in Mallya's companies.I kept a great hope for all of his companies. My suggestion is that in the case of bankruptcy he should vie alternate options like collabration or IPO's were he can save the company.Cross my fingers, for a good news soon.A investor

KFA is on the verge of bankruptcy. Their shares in the market are on the verge of becoming single digit units. I travelled from Dubai to Mangalore via Bangalore. Their service was excellent though. I guess Mallya should increase a rupee or two on the beer bottles to stop the airline from winding and pay all the due debts.

When Mr. Mallay started the Kingfisher Airlines, his intention was bad....!!!??? He thought that he can bring down the 'JET Airways'.
His actual ability and capacity is for selling LIQUOR only...!!!???

I had expected this some two years back, when he ordered 8 Airbus A-380 at the Paris airshow. Just guessing who he is going to fly on 550 passenger airbus. Will they be buffaloe or cows in that?
It was just for the showoff to others.

I always thought Kingfisher was customer friendly. But recently I had bad experience with them. Last month I was flying out of Mangalore to Mumbai to catch my flight to Canada next morning. I started early enough from Udupi, but heavy rain and road block delayed me reaching at 3 pm for the 3.35 pm Kingfisher flight. On my way I called them and told them the trouble I am having. Finally, I reached airport at 3.10 pm, but they refused to board me. In fact when they learnt that I need to take international flight next day, they took advantage of the situation. They told me to wait and they said they will help me to travel to Bangalore and then to Mumbai. But eventually they said I need to buy a new ticket at a cost of aroung Rs. 19,000. At the end I travelled with Jet Airways paying close to Rs.12,000. I will never book for me or for my family with Kingfisher again. I was denied bording for 10 minutes delay - how do they explain this stranding so many passengers for this silly mismanagement?

It seems like the liquor money is going to be burned down through
the airlines. Based on the comments, Kingfisher is going to
join with Air India soon in delays-
    customer satisfaction and flight cancellations.

Well said, Pradeep and Vivek Baliga.

Obviously, if KF goes down, it is the banks and fuel companies (public sector ..... i.e., us) that will pay for Mallya maam's Force1, RCB etc etc. "Cheers" everyone -)

Considering the Sahara's expected stake in the F1 and the non-payment of fuel bills to HPCL, it seems Mallya is in red.

This is gross irresponsibility on the part of airline.I am wondering how Mallya could solicit such kind of derailing service vital interest.Airlines goodwill, business interest @ stake now.If Kingfisher would like to cease the operation let it but why giving unnecessary troubles to Air passengers?A person like his caliber can't solve the issue? It gives to room to think some thing fishy is going on....

This is the Major Concern with Kingfisher,Every now and then they face this problem, Basically mallya just do not want to pay the money to anyone although he has got. They have huge Loan in corporation Bank and it likely to be converted in to NPA. They have huge debt towards HPCL, & he never pay anyone in time. Most of the passengers face lot of problems in traveling in Kingfisher.. He is likely to exit from Kingfisher RED, which was taken over by mallya from Gopinath Bantwal (earlier called AIR DECCAN) which introduced Rs 500/- per tkt & considered as cheapest airlines in the world. BUT NOW IT SEEMS TO BE GOPINATH BANTWAL was much better than Mallya. Atleast He never DUPED anyone.
