Kundapur: Three shops in a Siddapura market building gutted in fire incident

Kundapura, May 7: Fire broke out at the Siddapura market late in the night on Monday, May 6, here. Three shops in a building got gutted in the mishap causing loss running into several lacs of rupees.

Fire broke out in the spare parts shop that carried the name Ramanath Stores, a Nandini milk parlour next to it and a beauty parlour functioning  upstairs got destroyed in the fire.

It is suspected that the incident happened late in the night on Monday. The fire spread like wildfire before the incident came to light. Though the fire was doused by the fire fighting force the entire building was alrready gutted. The loss due to the fire mishap is estimated to be more than Rs 60 lacs.

Though the cause for the fire incident not clearly known, it is said that a short circuit might have caused the fire.

A case in this connection has been filed with Shankarnarayana police station. Investigations are on.
