Mysuru, May 14: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday asserted that the ruling Congress party in the State was completely united and refuted BJP claims of infighting within the party.
Speaking to media persons at Mysuru helipad, he said the BJP leaders were busy making dire predictions about the longevity of the Congress government since last one year and are desperate after their defeat in the assembly polls.
The Chief Minister claimed that the ruling Congress party is comfortably placed in the elections to the 6 legislative council seats from the teachers and graduates constituency and said the educated as well as the rural voters are able to compare the performance of the previous BJP and the present Congress government.
The very fact that the Congress party has been able to select its candidates for 6 seats six months in advance to enable the candidates to prepare for the battle indicates that the party is completely united, he said.
Siddaramaiah said the BJP-JDS alliance will not make any difference and Congress candidates are sure to win.
Ridiculing the claims to JDS leader H D Kumaraswamy that he has evidence of the alleged corruption in the government in pen drives and was ready to release them if a credible probe is ordered, the Chief Minister said the entire State knows about Kumaraswamy’s pen drives as well as the pen drives of Hassan sex scandal involving his own nephew and JDS Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who had recorded the rapes and abuses against multiple women in his phone and the recordings were widely circulated in Hassan district and other places in pen drives.
