Mangalore-Mumbai Bus Tragedy: Couple Grief-stricken by Loss of Both Kids

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (VA)

Mangalore, Oct 16: Mamata, her two children Rajath (10) and Rishitha (7) and Mamata’s brother Prasad were travelling to Mumbai for a happy occasion of a close relative’s wedding, but hardly did they know that fate had different plans in store.

They were in the ill-fated Mangalore-Mumbai VRL bus that met with an accident on Friday October 14 night near Ankola.

Mamata, being in Mulky, decided to go to Mumbai half-heartedly. Though initially she was not interested, on her brother’s insistence and children’s school holidays changed her mind and decided to attend the relative’s wedding in Mumbai which was supposed to be on Sunday October 16. Due to non-availability of train-tickets Mamata's mother alone went in the train and the rest traveled in the bus.

In the accident, Mamata and her brother were injured, while her two children lost their lives. The tragedy has put Mamata and her husband Jayaram in untold misery.

The family is in a state of shock, and what was supposed to be a happy occasion of a wedding has turned into sorrow. Mamata is grief-stricken, and unable to express her pain.

In all, bus had 37 passengers among which four of them lost their lives in the accident. Two of the other deceased are 23-year-old Kumari Shraddha Umesh from Mumbai and Shindha from Pune. Rest 33 passengers have sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment.

What a tragedy which could have been averted had the driver had taken good precaution while overtaking on a narrow bridge. Two lovely kids lost in the accident and sorrow for the parents and other family members and friends. Our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to all the bereaved.Justice should be done to the parents and the guilty should be punished.

Oh my God! Look at these two innocent kids really shocking and feeling very sad. I pray god to give strength to the parents to overcome this sorrow. Also I pray god to bless these parents with another kid soon.
Look at the accident picture looks like bus driver is trying to overtake the truck that too on the bridge. This is a small bridge bus can cross within one minute bus driver should have waited till cross the bridge to overtake. Another cause may be almost all Indian drivers drive with full head light on this may also one of the reasons for the accident. Whatever may be the reason it is very sad.
