Mangaluru: Award-winning writer Naveen D’Souza passes away at 55

Mangaluru, May 15: Naveen D’Souza, the award-winning writer popularly known as Naveen Kurmbil, passed away at the age of 55.

Naveen was a prolific writer whose short stories were widely published in Konkani periodicals and magazines. He also contributed to Kannada newspapers.

His exceptional storytelling earned him numerous cash awards throughout his career.

One of his notable works, ‘Nanv Nathello Peto’, was published in the Romi script and received critical acclaim. Additionally, his book ‘Devacha Bhagevontano’, published by the Daijidubai Writers Forum, was selected for the Academy Book Award in 2014.

    Sorry to hear the untimely demise of Naveen. I fondly cherish our childhood days together in primary and seconday school, also as altar boys. His accomplishments as konkani writer are well known. Heartfelt condolences to his loved ones. Rest in Peace Naveen.
