Mangaluru, May 17: The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Dakshina Kannada (DK) district on May 19 and 20, forecasting heavy rains.

Rainfall is expected to range from 11.55 cm to 20.44 cm, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

A yellow alert has been declared for May 18 and 21, with anticipated rainfall between 6.45 cm and 11.55 cm on these days.
