New Delhi: Now, Criminal Complaint against Karnataka Governor

New Delhi, Oct 18: Hansraj Bhardwaj, Governor of Karnataka and erstwhile law minister in the union government, and five others, were named by a person in a criminal complaint filed against them in the Tilak Marg police station here on Monday October 17.

Bhardwaj has been accused of being party to the decision of then UPA-led union government to drop a case of disproportionate assets against Mulayam Singh Yadav and his family members, in exchange for favours shown by the Samajwadi Party to support the government in the crucial trust vote in 2008.

The complainant, Vishwanath Chaturvedi, a Supreme Court lawyer, has also named the then minister of state for personnel affairs and present Maharashtra Chief Minister, Prithviraj Chavan, former DIG of CBI, Tilottama Verma, assistant commissioner, H C Avasthi, and the then solicitor general, E Vahanvati, as co-conspirators.

Chaturvedi says that an interim application was filed in Supreme Court, to free the case against Mulayam Singh Yadav from out of the ambit of CBI inquiry in November 2007. He says that the interim application was moved at the behest of then law minister, Hansraj Bhardwaj.

Central Bureau of Investigation probe had been ordered in the above case against the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. Chaturvedi claims in his complaint, that during the trust vote relating to nuclear deal with USA, UPA government faced the prospect of facing debacle in parliament, as the communist parties decided to vote against the government. Bhardwaj and others helped the government to win the trust vote by entering into an understanding with the Samajwadi Party president, Mulayam Singh Yadav, to drop the CBI case in exchange for the Samajwadi Pary MPs voting in favour of the government, the complainant has alleged.

The Delhi police, who have received the complaint, are holding consultations with the higher ups about the desirability of registering the first information report on the basis of this complaint, it is said.

    This is the man who allowed Quotrochi of Bofors scandal and helped the Queen. This is the man who favoured Mulla Yam. This is the man who wanted to rule Karnataka atleast for 6 months toppling Yeddi. He is the next aspirant to be President of India it seems. Wonder he is in the list of swiss bank account holders. But whatever it may be. In our great country it will take tens of years these peole are taken to court and final verdict comes. By that either the person will die or all is forgotten or pardoned by the great selfish politicians. With lakhs and lakhs of traitors and betrayors what else can be expected fro the rascals all around. Do not be surprised if some day Dawood is nominated as our President or PM by our own political leaders. If that day comes I am sure Dawood will be far far better ruler than our Donghi leaders.     We are living in India, country which is enjoiying worlds largest democracy, here the accused are given 100% chance to defend themselves or to prove their innocence, it is well known fact and as per the law but it do not mean that so far nobody has been convicted or the Indian jails are empty, so I repeat dont jump into conclusion, keep faith on judiciary law will take its own course.

    At present they look like criminals-but the courts might release them with arguments & evidences proving they are innocent-anything is possible in India!
    People always come to a quick fix solutions in this age of Fast Food.

    Petitions or Complaints without any substantiative evidence would have zeero chance of succeeding the test of legal verification.
    Cirucmstantial evidence cannot be taken as convictable unless provided with further substantive concrete proof.
    Any actions when in office in discharging his duties can be attributable as implicative evidence in a court of law as prejudiced until courts get satisfactory further evidences.
    This is might be only a gimmick by prejudiced advocate to get publicity, which might get reprimand from court as wasting its time & resources.

Being a Governor he just like a Congress Agent and get in to dirty Politics. Being a Advocate he never Respected the LAW and being a Governor he never stayed Neutral.

H R Bharadwaj was taken the initiative to de-freeze two bank accounts of Ottavio Quattrocchi in 1992, who is seen as a close friend of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. & he did not consult the investigating agency CBI which had gotten the accounts frozen. In January 2007, H R Bharadwaj was criticized for not acting on the advise of CEC to dismiss the Assistant EC Chawla. Bharadwaj instead chose to cticize CEC while the law minister felt no need to investigate serious allegations against Chawla. He also allowed to free the case against Mulayam Singh Yadav from CBI inquiry in November 2007 in order to get the Support from Mulayam singh.

    I think it is prudent to wait for next course of action. Should the court accepts the case, then there should be some material in this case. Should the court dismisses the case, I don't think it will do it quietly. Someone will face the music, whether it is Bharadwaj or chaturvedi. Time will tell.
