Mangaluru, May 24: Fr Walter D’Souza took charge as the new parish priest of St Sebastian Church, Bendur. The parishioners of St Sebastian Church, celebrated a significant day as they welcomed Fr Walter D’Souza as their new parish priest on May 22. The outgoing parish priest, Fr Vincent Monteiro, officially handed over the responsibilities to Fr Walter D’Souza in a formal ceremony.

The handing over was led by Fr Benjamin Nazareth, the vicar of Milagres parish, who represented the Bishop of Mangaluru. A short welcome programme followed the official ceremony, organized by the Parish Council. The programme was hosted by the assistant parish priest, Fr Vivek Deepak Lobo.

During the programme, the vice president of the parish council, Vinod D'Souza, welcomed the new parish priest and provided a brief history of the parish. Patsy Britto, the secretary of the Parish Council, expressed her gratitude to all who attended and contributed to the event.
