Mangaluru, May 24: Yenepoya Medical College commemorated its silver jubilee with a captivating blend of Bollywood retro music, live performances, and a cultural showcase at Town Hall, Mangaluru, on Friday, May 24.
Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, chancellor of Yenepoya University, expressed his gratitude during the event, stating, "I am delighted to be part of this charitable endeavour. I extend my thanks to the almighty, as I believe that every achievement is possible through divine grace. I also acknowledge the dedicated efforts of my father, along with the hard work of all our stakeholders. Today marks a significant milestone, and I am pleased that we are celebrating it by contributing to worthwhile causes. We have donated a sum of Rs 1 lac to PAGE (People's Association for Geriatric Empowerment) and ACT (Animal Care Trust, Mangaluru). My heartfelt congratulations to the doctors for their noble initiative. I also extend my appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for his unwavering support and Dr. Ananth Prabhu for organising this splendid event."
Dr Ananth Prabhu, Dr Priyanka, Dr Yathish, Malini Prasad, and Manjula Shetty enchanted the audience with their renditions of some Bollywood hits from the 60s and 70s, transporting everyone into a musical reverie.
Dr M S Moosaba, principal of YMC, delivered a warm welcome speech, and Dr Ananth Prabhu, as the convener of the organising committee for the musical evening and cultural Show, expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks.
The event saw the esteemed presence of Dr Gangadhar Somayaji K S, registrar of Yenepoya University; Dr B H Sripathi Rao, pro vice-chancellor; Dr Abhay Nirgude, dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr Prakash R Saldanha, vice-principal of YMC, and other distinguished guests.
In essence, the silver jubilee celebration of Yenepoya Medical College was a harmonious blend of music, culture, and philanthropy, embodying the spirit of achievement and community spirit.
