Mangaluru, May 26: "The prime minister today is not talking about development; rather, he is making hate speeches. He should ask for votes for development, but today he is disturbing the peace of the nation," said MLC Salim Ahmed and chief whip of the Karnataka government.
Addressing news persons on Sunday, May 26, MLC Salim Ahmed stated, "I have been appointed as in-charge of MLC elections, and we are confident that the Congress party will secure all 6 constituencies. The Congress candidates Ayanur Manjunath and K K Manjunath will secure victory from the South West constituency."
He further added, "K K Manjunath lost in the previous elections by a narrow margin, and Ayanur Manjunath had resigned. Today, the youths understand that the Congress party fulfills its promises. The Congress party has been in power for almost a year, and as promised, we have successfully delivered on all the five guarantees which are popular across the country. The Congress party is working for the development of people from all communities, and we will secure 20 Lok Sabha seats. The I.N.D.I.A. bloc will form the government at the Centre, and Rahul Gandhi will be our prime minister."
"The BJP has always made false promises to the public, and today the wave is in favour of the Congress party. The citizens are fed up with the BJP's 10-year rule and our leaders are working together. We can confidently say that the Congress party will emerge victorious," he said.
When asked about the BJP party's statement demanding the resignation of Home Minister Parameshwara for violence across the state, Salim Ahmed responded, "Our government is focused on stopping these incidents, and the accused have been arrested. Further investigations are underway."
When questioned about actions against S P Dinesh for going against the party, MLC Harish Kumar stated, "Action has been taken and he has been suspended from the Congress party."
Regarding the assertion that Rahul Gandhi will be the prime minister, Salim Ahmed clarified, "The final decision will be taken by leaders of the I.N.D.I.A bloc, but many youths wish to see Rahul Gandhi as our prime minister, and although we have no negative thoughts for Kharge or any other leaders."
Shakuntala Shetty, Gafur, Ashraf, Sashidhar, Arif, Shalet Pinto, and others were present.
