Bantwal: Head-on collision between truck-KSRTC bus leaves 8 injured

Bantwal, May 30: A truck laden with goods collided head-on with a KSRTC bus after the truck driver lost control of the vehicle at Kadabettu Cross near Vagga on Wednesday evening.

Eight people were injured in the mishap and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital. The bus was traveling from Mangaluru to Beltangady. As it reached Kadabettu Cross, the truck coming from the opposite direction hit the bus. The drivers of both vehicles and several bus passengers were injured.

The injured individuals have been identified as the truck driver, Mahesh, a native of Chitradurga; the bus driver, Umesh; and passengers Nalini from Beltangady, student Madhura from Irvathur, Rakshan Venugopala from Kavalapadoor, Thranatha from Gardadi, and Rohini from Maddadka.

Bantwal traffic police have registered a case. The accident was captured on the CCTV camera of a nearby shop. Locals have accused the authorities of neglect, stating that many accidents occur at Kadabettu Cross and that the concerned authorities have not taken any corrective action.

    No use of taking any class to drivers. Every driver is trying to avoid holes, First of all give good road connections. Open a separate class to drive and ,how avoid holes. It would have been better.
