Mangaluru: Holy Family Church holds farewell programme for Fr Alwyn D’Cunha

Mangaluru, May 30: A thanksgiving Mass was concelebrated by Fr Alwyn D’Cunha and Fr Manohar D’Souza, superior, Monte Mariano convent. Thereafter formal felicitation and farewell ceremony was held at Sabha Bhavan, parish hall.

The programme began with a prayer song and welcome dance. Arther D’Souza, vice president of PPC welcomed the gathering.

Fr Alwyn D’Cunha also marked the launch of official parish website which was designed and developed by HAnsiTech & Hansel Lobo. Parish pastoral council, associations, committees, and school personnel felicitated Fr Alwyn and expressed their appreciation and gratitude for his selfless service towards the parish for past 6 years and wished him the best for his future endeavors.

Fr Alwyn D’Cunha in his message thanked everyone for the love, support, and affection he had received from the people in the parish and assured them of his prayers. Dafny Lewis, secretary of PPC read the felicitation message and the guest on the dais handed over the maan patr to the dear vicar.

All parish associations and school personnel put up a spectacular show with the cultural performances. The energetic dance performances, melodious singing, skits, and much more were so mesmerizing. The energy was contagious. Farewell song was sung by the parish choir team which was so apt.

The best part of the eve was an eye-catching performance by our very own team ‘Omzoorche Dinde Manay’ who were the winners of ‘Voje Utsav-2024’ which was held on May 19.

Fr Alwyn D’Cunha, parish priest; Fr Manohar D’Souza, superior, Monte Mariano convent; Arther Dsouza, vice president of PPC; Dafny Lewis, secretary of PPC; Elroy Saldanha, co-ordinator of all church commissions and Sr Cynthia Saldanha, superior, St Charles Borromeo Convent were present on the dais.

Ashlyn Fernandes and Vivian Periera compered the event. To culminate a fellowship meal was arranged by the parishoners.
