Udupi/Mangaluru, May 30: The new academic year began on May 29, with classes scheduled to commence on May 31. On May 29, teachers and non-teaching staff arrived at schools, undertaking preparations such as cleaning classrooms and the campus.
The admission process is progressing rapidly in all schools. Since Wednesday, activities including cleaning the school campus, arranging furniture, inspecting classrooms, gathering information on students, preparing to distribute uniforms and textbooks, organizing mid-day meal milk preparation, and arranging required groceries have been underway.
Classrooms had been closed for summer holidays since April 10, with only a few teachers and the head teacher attending to new admissions and other administrative tasks.
With the start of the 2024-25 academic year activities on Wednesday, many schools have hired additional staff and ensured the cleaning of campuses and classrooms.
Dakshina Kannada (DK) DDPI Ganapati K and Udupi DDPA Venkatesha Subyaya Patagara stated, "Precautionary measures have been taken to prevent any inconvenience to students during the rainy season. Messages have been sent to parents of students already enrolled in our schools, urging them to send their children to school on May 31.
