Udupi: Installation ceremony for new batch of API held

Udupi, May 30: The installation ceremony for the new batch of the Association of Physicians of India (API) for the year 2024-25 was held yesterday at the country Inn Hotel, Manipal. The event was graced by Dr Padmaraj Hegde, dean of KMC Manipal, who served as the chief guest and administered the oath to the new team.

In his address, Dr Padmaraj Hegde emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and collaboration among physicians to enhance healthcare outcomes in the region.

The newly elected president, Dr Shivashankar KN, professor and unit head, KMC Manipal, expressed his gratitude and outlined his vision for the upcoming year. He highlighted the need for innovative approaches in medical education and patient care, aiming to uphold the high standards of the association.

Outgoing President Dr Ashok Kumar YG welcomed the gathering and reflected on the achievements of the past year. The newly elected secretary, Dr Ananth S Shenai, concluded the formal proceedings with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the outgoing team and expressing enthusiasm for the year ahead.

The ceremony was preceded by an insightful medical presentation by unit 8 of KMC Manipal, showcasing recent advancements and case studies. The evening concluded with an entertainment program, adding a celebratory touch to the occasion.
