Udupi, May 30: The BJP has expelled four party office-bearers for supporting an independent candidate against the official BJP candidate.
The individuals identified are BJP district vice-president Mahesh Takur, Kaup Mandala vice-president Upendra Nayak, district Yuva Morcha vice-president Roshan Shetty, and district Minority Morcha chief secretary Junaid.
The district president Kishore Kumar Kundapur stated that "The four office-bearers were served notices for involving in anti-party activities and a few of them have tendered their answers, but as the answers were not satisfactory we have expelled them from the party for a term of six years."
The expelled office-bearers were supporting the independent candidate Raghupathi Bhat in the upcoming council polls.
