Bengaluru: Toastmasters shine at Crescendo 2024

Bengaluru, June1: In the recently held Toastmasters District 121 Conference – Crescendo 2024, at Radisson Blu, Outer Ring Road, members of Winners Club Mangaluru made their mark in multiple ways. This district involves all the Toastmasters Clubs from Karnataka and Kerala. The event was held on May 18 and 19.

Winners TM Club is the first toastmasters club of division F and it has been in existence since 2002. Max Rasquinha, DTM started the toastmaster’s movement in the coastal belt of Karnataka and at present the division has 21 clubs.

Maria Phyllis D’ Costa, DTM won laurels by winning the second runner up position in the international speech contest. She represented ‘Let’s Debate TM Club’ in the contest. Malini Hebbar, DTM represented Division F in the evaluation contest.

Savitha Salian, DTM was coronated as district director of TM District 121 for the year 2024-25. Bharathi Shevgoor, DTM received her second DTM Award. Maria Phyllis D’Costa was honoured as the outstanding toastmaster of the year. Under the leadership of president Shaivi Salian, the winners club has earned the coveted spirit of 121 Award.

The mission of Toastmasters International is to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. Mentoring members is taken up on top priority as the club mission of toastmasters is to provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
