Mangaluru, June 1: “A new school year marks new beginnings, new adventures, new friendships, and new challenges. The slate is clean and anything can happen” – Denise Witmer.

The academic year 2024-25 began with lot of excitement. The students of Lourdes Central School entered the portals of LCS carrying their new books all set to begin the new year with hope and enthusiasm. The students of classes KG to XII assembled at the school grounds for the welcome assembly.

The programme began with the universal prayer and prayer song followed by the intentions. Anusha and Kshiti compered and Amber Furtado enriched the audience with an inspiring thought. Tulsi Hariprasad from Class 12 delivered the welcome speech.

The dignitaries on the dais formally inaugurated the new school calendar for the year 2024-25. Principal Fr Robert D’Souza welcomed the new students and staff members who had joined this year and wished the students a fruitful academic year. He also welcomed the new principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira and gave a brief introduction about him.

Dr John Baptist Saldanha gave a floral welcome to the new principal. All the school documents, student register and keys were handed over to the new principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira and he was felicitated by the dignitaries.

Fr Manager, Dr John Baptist Saldanha extended his best wishes to the students, staff, and new principal for the new academic year. All the class representatives offered their floral greetings to the new principal followed by the welcome song. Fr Johnson in his speech thanked everyone for the warm welcome and wished everyone to be happy and make others happy.

Seanna of class 10D delivered the vote of thanks. Programme concluded with the school anthem.
