Bengaluru, Jun 1: Bhavya Narasimhamurty, AICC national coordinator and Karnataka Congress spokesperson, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first female officer from South India to be selected and commissioned into the Territorial Army.
Bhavya's journey to this prestigious position began in 2022 when she successfully cleared the Territorial Army entrance examination conducted by the Directorate General Territorial Army. She stood out as the only female candidate selected in the 2022 examination, marking a significant achievement in her military career.
In May 2024, Bhavya was posted to an Army unit stationed near the Indo-Pak Line of Control (LOC). During her posting, she underwent rigorous training and was subsequently commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Territorial Army. Her commission signifies a groundbreaking moment, as she becomes the first woman from South India to attain this rank in the Territorial Army.
