Mangalore: Suspected Food Poisoning Lands 40 Students in Hospital

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Oct 21: A function organised to bid farewell to the outgoing students of an ayurveda college on the night of Wednesday October 19 turned out to be an occasion they would not easily forget.

Soon after the function, many of them landed in the hospital, suffering from a suspected case of food poisoning.

Several teachers of the college and students had taken part in a function arranged to bid farewell to the final year students of the same college on that evening, and had consumed food there. It is learnt that food from a city-based hotel including burgers, were supplied for the function.

Out of around 300 persons who consumed food at the function, nearly 160 complained of nausea and other complications. About 120 students with mild symptoms were provided first aid and sent home, while the other 40 continue to be treated in SCS Hospital.

Most of the students who developed food poisoning symptoms are from Kerala, it is learnt.

Indians follow western, be it a culture, food, technology, clothing, velantine or language whatever.. blindly. most of the movies copied from hollywood to bollywood. it's a shame. people consume burgers here everyday . it just that they did not prepare it right way. once again shame.

Looks like the Ayurvedic Medical science students dont have much hope in ayurvedic medicine so they seem to have been admitted in a hospital which specializes in Allopathic medicine.

We have given subtle knowledge like Vedas, Yoga and Ayurveda to the world.

We have accepted Science and Technology from the West.

But, we do not want those western culture which is spoiling mental and physical health of our society.

There is a Sanskrit saying translated as under:

"Let the noble thoughts come to us from all sides"
