Sullia: Nettaru Praveen murder case – One more arrested

Sullia, Jun 5: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested another absconding accused in the murder case of BJP youth leader Praveen Nettaru from Bellare.

The arrested is identified as Riaz Yusuf Haralli alias Riaz. He was trying to escape abroad and fell into the NIA’s trap at the Mumbai airport. With this, the number of people arrested so far in Praveen's murder case has increased to 19.

One of the main accused in the case, Mustafa Paichar of Sullia, who was absconding, and his accomplice Mansoor Pasha were arrested on May 10 near Sakleshpur.

It may be recalled, Praveen Nettaru, a BJP Yuva Morcha district executive committee member, was brutally hacked to death by two motorcycle-borne assailants in Bellare village of Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka allegedly by cadres of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) in July 2022.
