Udupi: New academic year inaugurated, farewell accorded to principal Sr Ancilla at Manasa

Udupi, Jun 6: Manasa Pamboor witnessed a significant event on June 1, marking the inauguration of the new academic year, bidding farewell to principal Sr Ancilla, and welcoming the new principal. The ceremony, held with much enthusiasm, was inaugurated by Msgr Ferdinand Gonsalves, the spiritual director of the centre and vicar general of Udupi Diocese. He praised the commendable work done at Manasa.

Henrey Menezes, the president, welcomed the gathering, setting a positive tone for the event. Dr Edward Lobo, the founder president, expressed gratitude to Sr Ancilla for her dedicated service and extended a warm welcome to the new principal, Sr Winni Gonsalves.

Vanitha Shettigar, PTA president, and Ashwini, a teacher at the institution, appreciated Sr Ancilla's contributions over the past eight years. The teachers paid tribute with a heartfelt farewell song. Sr Ancilla, in her farewell speech, thanked the staff, management committee, and parents for their support and cooperation during her tenure.

Sr Ancilla, who previously served at Manasa as a hostel warden and principal from 2009 to 2011, shared her joy at returning for a third tenure. The program was skillfully compered by Jyothi.

Distinguished guests present on the dais included trustees Dr Gerald Pinto, John Martis, Juliet D'Souza, autism centre PTA president Seema Shetty, and Warden Sr Mary Beck, who all contributed to the event's success.
