Court may Frame Charges in 2G Case Today

New Delhi, Oct 22 (DHNS): A Delhi court is likely to pronounce on Saturday its order on framing of charges against former Telecom Minister A Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi and others in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case.

Special CBI Judge O P Saini had on October 14 reserved the order in the matter. The framing of charges is a significant stage in the criminal case as it decides the nature of offences for which the accused would be prosecuted.

The CBI had of late invoked the tougher provision of criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy against the 17 accused which entail the maximum sentence of life term in case of conviction. The investigating agency had filed two charge sheets in the case.
