Raja, Others Charged in 2G Case


New Delhi, Oct 22 (IANS): A special CBI court Saturday charged former communications minister A. Raja, along with others accused in the 2G spectrum case, for criminal breach of trust that could entail a maximum punishment of life imprisonment.

Finding sufficient prima-facie evidence against Raja, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court imposed Section 409 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against him.

Special Judge O.P. Saini said: "Section 409 is imposed on Raja and two of his secretaries."

Former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura and former private secretary to Raja, R.K. Chandolia, too have been charged for criminal breach of trust.
