Mangaluru, Jun 7: The seventh day of Tredicina devotion preceding the annual feast of St Anthony of Padua was held on June 7, at St Anthony Shrine, Milagres Church, Mangaluru.

Fr Santhosh Rodrigues, director, Shanthi Kiran Pastoral Centre, Bajjodi celebrated the eucharistic and prayed for the health professionals along with Fr J B Crasta and Fr Avinash Pais, St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu.


Fr Santhosh delivered a sermon on the theme, "Drawing Inspiration for Prayer from the Sacrificial Heart of Jesus." With fervour, he emphasized the profound significance of Jesus' sacrifice, reminding listeners of the love and compassion that flowed from his heart, even in the face of suffering and pain.

Encouraging believers to seek solace and strength in prayer, Fr Santhosh highlighted the transformative power of communing with the heart of Jesus, urging all to embrace faith with renewed fervency and devotion.

At the end of the mass, Fr J B Crasta director of the Ashram led the novena in honour of St Anthony, during which the special intercession of the session was sought for the various needs and prayer intentions of the devotees.

Sisters of the Apostolic Carmel (AC) led the choir and joined in the thanksgiving. Payasam (sweet dish) was served to all the devotees who attended the devotion.
