Yeddyurappa Arrest: No Advani Yatra in Bangalore, RSS says it is Embarassed

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Oct 22: Former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa's stint in jail seems to be proving rather an embarassment for the BJP central leadership. Though state BJP president Eshwarappa had earlier stated that it would not hamper L K Advani's Rath Yatra to the state, the senior party leader has now changed his plans.

Advani has decided to skip Bangalore, and though no reasons were provided, it is apparent that Yeddyurappa and three other BJP former ministers being in jail, not to mention charges against others like home minister Ashok, has made the political situation too awkward for Advani's visit.

However, he will continue with his Jan Chetna Yatra against corruption as scheduled in the coastal parts of the state on October 31, sources clarified.

Besides Yeddyurappa, three other former ministers - mining baron G Janardhana Reddy, Katta Subramanaya Naidu and S N Krishnaiah Shetty - are also in jail. Of them, Reddy is lodged in Andhra jail.

In addition, a court decision on industries minister Murugesh Nirani is to come on Monday October 24, again on charges of land grab.

Advani's Yatra is scheduled to reach Dakshina Kannada district on October 30 from Kasargod in neighbouring Kerala.

He was to fly to Bangalore from Dakshina Kannada's main town Mangalore, about 350 km away, to address a public meeting in the evening.

Now he will continue the yatra by addressing meetings in Mangalore and several other places on the west coast Oct 31 and go on to neighbouring Goa the same day, sources said.

Advani had often expressed his displeasure over the way his party was running its first government in Karnataka, which it had once hailed as gateway to rule southern India.

In another development, the RSS for the first time on Saturday October 22 publicly acknowledged that it was embarrassed about the arrest of Yeddyurappa, who is a staunch RSS man.

"The recent episode of Yeddyurappa is an embarrassment to the RSS," the organization's joint general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said.

Yeddyurappa moved to Jan Sangh, BJP's earlier avatar, after being active in the RSS.

Hosable said: "Whenever Yeddyurappa visited Sangh headquarters here, RSS senior functionaries advised him as he is a Swayamsevak."

"If he has not taken the advice seriously, it is wrong to blame the RSS", Hosabale said.

However, he did not elaborate on the advice given.

Advani should have visited yeddy in the jail to meet him and inquire about his health. After all, he is the one who bank rolled first BJP government in South India and BJP 2009 campaign. By ignoring him, BJP is sending wrong signal and it will have tough time in arranging money bags for upcoming election. With this kind of attitude of senior leaders, BJP will go to the dogs very soon. Now, the priority should be "BJP BACHAAAO. RSS and Yeddy has reason to be angry.

Do we still have any pseudos supporting Shriman Yeddyurappaji and the great BJP Govt. in Karnataka? I feel sorry for Sriman Advaniji and his famous 'Rath Yathra' To start with he himself is tainted with deviding India by Babri Masjid demolition. Again nobody can forget the Modi's state sponsored carnage of muslims in Gujarath. I wonder what is Advani going to prove by his so called Yatra???

LK Advani must not only skip bangalore, but he must skip all karnataka as his yatra is against corruption... Now karnataka HM too is involved in land scam...Infact I have suggested this move long back when LKA started his rath yatra......Now its very clear that the BJP leadership has openly acknowledged his pratymens corruption in karnataka and has no moral right to continue his yatra in other parts of India. If he continues, then he is insane and making fool of himself....

Wha! late realisation by RSS...its too late....Advaniji decides to skip Bangalore his ratha yatra route...Jail bharo episodes by BJP leaders who are in close proximity to RSS has embarassed BJP high command....
In fact really embarassed is Gujarat CM Modi! Modi was on special deputation to Karnataka during the initial days of BJP leaders formed government with Yedyurappa as CM, to impart training to the newly elected members on how to give good governance on the lines of principales.Alas!!! within few monthss they forgotten the lecture and everybody indulged in grabing oppertunity to amass wealth in whatever way possible and the result is now before the people.Had RSS been taken steps in the right time this situation would not have come!Everybody knows this!
What is the purpose of repenting now? BJP, a party which is hoping to capture power at the centre in 2014,what may happen if at all it succeeds in its attempt? .. a very serious question if one anlyses Karnataka situation. It has no high command and leaders are 'Dritarastras'.Its national president spends crores of amount for his son's marriage and sheds crocodile terrs for the poor and down troddens! what a hipocracy!!!
Advaniji, you better skip your yatra and go back Delhi and take rest...you are too old now to address the people on issues of corruptiuon and black money because you have not taken any steps to stop black deeds of Karnataka BJP ministerss and legislators and otherss!!!
    Bharat maataa ki Jai!!!

Nithin with Eswarappa & Sada should carry the Rath Yatra in Bangalore as all of them term Yeddys' Scam as small compared to centre.
RSS have the habit of disowning criminals as its own just like LTTE.
Anyway day by day more & more people who support State BJP in one way or other are moving away from corrupt among them. Its a GOOD development.
Accused & not convicted doesn't cut much ice-as Advani never gives that leeway to tainted scamsters from other parties while supporting their own.
People now know all Polticians are same- whatever the shape or colour of bottles they portray to the voters when election comes.

FIRST OF ALL, WHY IS BJP NEED YATRA? AND FOR WHAT REASON? THIS PARTY HAS TO BE AN RESPONSIBLE OPPOSITION PARTY, MAKING MOKERY OF THE SITUATION. WHOLE NATION IS CALLING FOR FUEL SAVING, WHERE AS THIS PARTY LEADERS ARE ON YATRA ON BUS & WASTING FUEL FOR NOTHING. THEY ARE USING PUBLIC TAX PAID MONEY. STOP THIS YATRA FROM NOW.

Its reasonable that RSS is Embrassesed and has cancelled Advani's Yatra due to Yeddiurappa's arrest. But look at the congress leaders in Karnataka. Forever they are never embarassed, even when they repeatedly loose elections in Karnataka. They are so shameless and will never get embarassed. Poojary, Oscar, Moily will never get elected by their own people, yet they want to stay in politics. BJP has nothing to worry in Karnataka as long as these useless congress guys are not thrown out. BJP will stay in power and will rule Karnataka by winning the elections.
