Udupi, Jun 10: A free health checkup and camp organised at Mother Sorrow Church, Udupi auditorium and St Mary’s Kannada Medium School on May 18.

The camp was organised in association with health commission, Apoorva Maha Sangha, MAHE Manipal, Department of Community Medicine, KMC, Manipal, and Centre for Community Oncology, KMC, Manipal, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi, Manipal College of Allied Health Science, Manipal and Health Commission, Diocese of Udupi.

Msgr Ferdinand Gonsalves, Vicar General Udupi Diocese was the president of the event. Dr Edward Lobo, director, Udupi Health Commission was the chief guest of the event.

Dr Rajeshwari, professor, provided an insight into breast cancer and cervical Cancer. Dr Teena and her team members from College of Allied Health Science, and Dr Ajith Shenoy, Udupi Hospital, informed about diabetic foot screening, body composition, and diabetes blood treatment.

In the camp, charity one mineral density checkup was provided from Meditech India Limited.

The camp was organised by Hilda Cornelio, member, health commission, Udupi Diocese along with Manipal medical staff. As many as 40 medical staff helped in the health checkup and camp.

Gladys Saldanha, convener, health commission, welcomed the gathering. Sylvia Suvares proposed the vote of thanks. Maria Crasta preceded the event.

Loy Pinto, Convener 20 commissions, Prema Fernandes, vice-president Apoorve Maha Sangha, were present.
