New medical college building inaugurated at K S Hegde Medical College at Deralakatte by U T Khader

Mangaluru, Jun 10: A new building packed with numerous facilities was inaugurated at Nitte Educational Institute in commemoration of the silver jubilee of the K S Hegde Medical College in Deralakatte by Assembly Speaker U T Khader.

The institution, which is providing well-equipped facilities to the people also saw the launch of the Nuclear Medicine Service.

Addressing the gathering, Khadar emphasised that strengthening the nation through the advice of officials sitting in Vidhana Sabha, Parliament, and the air conditioned chambers alone is not possible. He stressed that everything is achievable through education.

Hegde's Medical College and Hospital in Deralakatte have attracted global attention in the field of education and healthcare. He emphasised the need for attention to be given to providing well-informed facilities to the people. He also stressed the importance of parents providing their children with nutritious food for better health.

Several dignitaries, including the Assembly Speaker U T. Khader and the chairman of the medical college, Dr. Vinay Hegde, were present at the inauguration ceremony. They highlighted the importance of education and health for the nation's development.

The newly inaugurated building at the medical college includes a Robotic Surgery Department, which will be operational soon. It will cater to various departments such as Neurology, Cardiology, Oncology, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology.

The new building houses advanced facilities such as a state-of-the-art Nuclear Medicine Department, which offers precise medical information on diseases such as cancer, heart diseases, and brain disorders. Additionally, there are expanded outpatient and ward areas.

The hospital is committed to providing free treatment to millions of patients through improved processes and services. The focus is on providing quality healthcare services to all sections of society.

Efforts are being made to provide genuine arrangements for blood donation and medication to the doorstep of diabetic patients. The initiative aims to prioritise humanitarian services and promote peace of mind and better health for all individuals.

Dinesh Gundu Rao, health minister and district in-charge minister stressed the importance of humanitarian services in society. He emphasised that by prioritising human service, "We inherently bring value to humanity itself. Ultimately, superior health and peace of mind come naturally through these efforts."

Nitte University is managed by vice-chancellor Vishal Hegde, chancellor Prof. Dr. M.S. Muditthaya, registrar Harsha Halahalli, dean Dr Jayaprakash Shetty.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Sumalatha R was also present. Nitte University co-chancellor Dr. M Shantaram Shetty welcomed.

Chancellor Prof Dr. M S Muditthaya also welcomed. Professor of Neurology Dr. Suhan Alva compered the programme.
