Mangaluru, Jun 12: In connection with the two BJP workers' stabbing incident registered under Cr. No. 80/24 at Konaje Police Station in connection with the Boliyar mosque altercation , authorities have secured seven more accused on Wednesday, June 12.
The individuals arrested are Tajuddin alias Sadiq, Sarvan, Mubarak, Ashraf and Tallath, Imran and Koli Irshad.
This follows the earlier arrest of six individuals, Md Shakir (28), son of Abdul Razak, Abdul Razak (40), son of Suleiman, Aboobakar Siddique (35), son of Suleiman, Sawad (18), son of Aboobakar and Monu alias Hafeez (24), son of Hamid Aboobakar.
The incident, which took place near the Boliyar Mosque on June 9, involved an altercation between two community groups during a BJP celebration. Provocative slogans allegedly led to a confrontation, resulting in the stabbing of two BJP workers. The victims are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
With these latest arrests, the total number of individuals apprehended in connection with this case has risen to eleven. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend additional suspects involved in the incident.
Police are continuing their investigation to ensure all involved parties are brought to justice and to maintain communal harmony in the area.
