Mangaluru, Jun 12: The thirteenth day of the Tredicina preceding the annual feast of St Anthony of Padua was held on June 12, at St Anthony Shrine, Milagres Church, Mangaluru.

Fr Andrew DSouza, parish priest, Bajal Church celebrated the holy eucharist and prayed for the labourers along with Fr Gilbert DSouza and Fr Avinash Lesly Pais, St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu.

Father Andrew delivered a sermon on the theme, "Unceasing and Faithful Prayer Yields Fruit." He emphasised that consistent and heartfelt prayer strengthens our relationship with God and brings about profound spiritual growth.

He encouraged the congregation to remain steadfast in their prayers, assuring them that faith-filled, continuous prayer can lead to blessings and positive changes in their lives. Through prayer, he explained, we can find guidance, comfort, and strength to overcome life's challenges.

At the end of the mass, Fr Gilbert DSouza, Chaplin of the Ashram led the novena in honour of St Anthony, during which the special intercession of the session was sought for the various needs and prayer intentions of the devotees.

Choir members of Bajal parish led the choir and joined in the thanksgiving. Payasam (sweet dish) was served to all the devotees who attended the devotion.
