Bantwal, Jun 13: The "Origami Bus," featuring origami artworks from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum, is set to arrive in Bantwal Taluk on Saturday, June 15. The bus will be stationed in front of the Mini Vidhana Soudha at B C Road, where schoolchildren and the public will have the opportunity to view the exhibits.

As part of the Museum on Wheels programme, this bus showcases paper artworks related to origami. A brief workshop on origami will also be conducted for interested students.

Organised by the Samsara Jodumarga Institute with special cooperation from the Taluk Administration, Bantwal Taluk Working Journalists' Association, and various Rotary Clubs, the event will be inaugurated at 9:30 am by MLA Rajesh Naik Ulipadyiguttu.

Tahsildar Archana Bhat, block education officer Manjunathan M G, president of Bantwal Taluk Working Journalists' Association Prashanth Poonjalakatta, and Rotary District 3181 Interact chairman Rtn Manjunath Acharya will be present.

The Origami Bus will be open for schoolchildren from 9:30 am to 1 pm and for the general public from 2 pm to 4 pm, announced Mounesh Vishwakarma, director of the Samsara Jodumarga team.

Origami is a type of paper art that is widely popular in Japan. The unique feature of origami is folding paper in various ways to create distinct shapes and sculptures. The Origami Bus aims to showcase the different possibilities of origami art, including its applications in mathematics, architecture, and engineering.
