No special facilities provided to actor Darshan at police station, says H K Patil

Bengaluru, June 13 (IANS): Karnataka Law Minister H.K. Patil clarified on Thursday that no special facilities are being provided to Kannada superstar Darshan, who has been arrested in connection with the murder of one of his fans.

"The shamiana installed on the premises of the police station is for the convenience of the additional staff deputed there in connection with the case," Patil told reporters here.

"Action has been initiated against Darshan as per the law. No special facility is provided to him just because he is a VIP. Considering the seriousness of the case, prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC have been imposed," the Minister added.

The police have clamped Section 144 in the surroundings of the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station here.

Patil also reiterated that when additional staff are deputed, tents are erected to ensure their convenience.

"This is not done for any VIP; it is done in the interest of maintaining law and order. An accused is an accused. There is no room for special treatment according to the law. Our government will not allow anything of this sort to happen," he said.

Darshan, his partner and co-star Pavithra Gowda, and 11 others were arrested on Saturday on charges of murdering 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a resident of Chitradurga.

The probe revealed that Renukaswamy was a big fan of Darshan and had sent derogatory messages to Pavithra Gowda on social media. The victim was allegedly kidnapped, brought to Bengaluru, kept in a shed, and brutally tortured to death.

Sad day for many people from Kundapura who speak Kannada , as their Kannada hero is in trouble today due to his own misdeeds ..This kind of glorification of these so-called hero's makes them think that they are above god. Cannot imagine such cruelty ..and physical abuse of an innocent person ..

Victim is diehard fan of actor. Bhakth Mahashay. He thought he is doing Darshan a favor. Ended up meeting a miserable fate, prematurely from hands of his own demi-god. Police trying to give justice to victim. But, there are still a lot, similar bhakth mahashays who think, their demi-god, can never be wrong. Simliarities with this kind of swami bhakthi is striking even with BJP brand politics. This mindless following has to stop.

Renukaswamy was a big fan of Darshan . But he shouldn't have interfered in his personal life . That's wrong . Flim actors have affairs' & all this ... Next murdering someone is a crime whatever it is. Darshan could have filed & complain or put an case . But Pavithra is the main accused who brain washed Darshan * darshan played to the beats of Pavithra . Now both dance for the beats of polices in jail.

According to newsreports, one minister and one MLA of opposition tried to protect the actor. Reminds me of Wagh Bakri Chai of Bhanduman. The owner Mr Desai (Sr) is known to me now his sons manage the company. Earlier the logo of the company showed a tiger and a bakri drinking tea from the same saucer/ bowl. This matches with what I always say about political parties- "Ek Hi Thaali Me Se Khaane Wale Log Hain".

This is pretty common in gatta side fans adore them like personal gods & will do anything for them they are just committed to them & go crazy without realising that these celebrities don't give a damn about fans. dharshan is a known felon two years back he was arrested & left on bail on domestic violence later a case of hitting a waiter in Mysore for delay in food delivery. he also has wildlife case against him but that was aquaited. another case of hitting a fan few years back by his men.
