Mangaluru: Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL) announces 'The Ramanujan Contest 2024'

Media release

Mangaluru, Jun 14: The Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL) has announced the launch of its prestigious national mathematics contest for students – 'The Ramanujan Contest 2024'.

Named after India’s legendary mathematical genius, Srinivasa Ramanujan, this contest aims to challenge young minds with puzzles and problems that extend beyond the standard school curriculum.

Building competence through competition, developing persistence:

Beyond fostering a love for mathematics, the contest aims to prepare students for real-world competition. One of the common issues we found was that students have low attention span.

Sitting with a question for hours if not days, and pondering upon it is an essential skill that students need to develop to be good scientists and engineers. This is precisely why the Ramanujan contest has been introduced. Students over time, understand the importance of pondering over questions for long periods and carry forward this skill in their future endeavors. Over the years, participants of the Ramanujan Contest have excelled in national exams like NMTC, VVM, PRMO & RMO.

Contest details:

'The Ramanujan Contest 2024' will be held over seven tests, The first test will be conducted on June 23, 2024. The upcoming tests will be conducted on the third Sunday of each month at CFAL Bejai campus.

Each two-hour test will challenge students with thought-provoking and challenging puzzles. The cumulative points from these tests will determine the winners, with top honors and awards recognising exceptional talent.

? Registration Fee: Rs 500 (Free for government school students)
