BJP national IT cell chief Amit Malviya slams Karnataka Congress over fuel price hike

New Delhi, June 16 (IANS): Amit Malviya, in-charge of BJP's national IT cell, on Sunday, came down on Karnataka Congress and Rahul Gandhi over the recent fuel price hike in the state.

Malviya took to X to express his discontent, pointing to Karnataka Minister for Industries and Development M. B. Patil, who justified the hike as necessary to fund Rahul Gandhi's "guarantees."

"M. B. Patil, Karnataka State Minister for Industries and Development, has said that the hefty fuel price hike was necessitated to fund Rahul Gandhi's 'guarantees'. Rahul has ruined every state he has laid his hands on," Malviya stated.

On Saturday, M. B. Patil defended the move, explaining that the decision to raise fuel prices was crucial to support the state's guarantee schemes and other developmental projects. He emphasised that, despite the increase, Karnataka's fuel prices remain lower than those in many other states.

Highlighting the internal conflicts within the Karnataka Congress, Malviya continued: "There is widespread discontent in Karnataka Congress after they fared poorly in Lok Sabha elections. Earlier, D. K. Shivkumar faction pulled in one direction, and now even the Lingayats in the Congress are upset after B. S. Yediyurappaji was targeted."

He urged Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to focus on the instability within the Karnataka government, suggesting the administration might be operating "on borrowed time."

"Khargeji should worry about the Congress Govt in Karnataka. It seems to be on borrowed time," he wrote.

The Congress-led Karnataka government increased the retail sales tax on fuels on Saturday, leading to a rise in petrol prices by Rs 3 and diesel by Rs 3.50. The new prices took effect immediately, surprising many vehicle owners.

Nithish K., Joint Secretary of the Finance Department of Karnataka, issued a notification for the immediate implementation of the new rates.

Automatically price will come down and give back the revenue to state govt which is held by central govt since many years. Them Sidda will reduce the cess of fuel. Guys like you and your chaddi ministers were sleeping when the life was made miserable in the past 10 years because of inflation, price rice, fake promises, etc. etc. Do you know how much petrol was costing per litre when bjPEE took over from Congress?? Gas price is almost 3 times higher now and because of this the cylinder madam has been kicked out. The very same guys who were shouting from top of their voice that they would pay even if the petrol price goes up to 500 Rupees are now shedding crocodile tears when the price went up by Rs.3. Nobody likes price increase. My question is why these guys were quiet when the prices were going up for everything? The only time you saw price decrease was when the election was round the corner when the chaddi guru lowered the petrol price by Rs.2. What a great achievement!!! Tum karega to leela, hum karega to paap.

Andha bhakts were like you were happy for the last ten years when oil prices were at 2/3 of what is today but your feku guru was still selling diesel and petrol at the highest prices ever. Now all of a sudden why you all get problems on the increase. Tell all your andha bhakts and feku followers to give up free bhagyas and automatically the fuel price increase will reverse.

How come during your rule the state revenue was trailing behind compared to present state revenue. Where did the money go without any development, no guarantees, and no reservations??????….

Bhandarkar, did you wake up from deep sleep to get a shock of price rise? Did you have kumbakarna sleep for 10 years? We never read your stupid comments when there was non-stop price rise in the past. If you pay Rs. 3 extra per ltr., govt gives you more in guarantees. In spite of increase in petrol price, d\o you know in Karnataka we still pay less price compared to other states? Don't write nonsense just for the sake of writing.

This price rise is when India is importing cheap Russian oil and when HP and BP are paying windfall tax to GOI. Siddu's expenditure far exceeds the known source of income. He and Congress bribed their way into power. Now he is wanting Centre to pay for his unjustified expenses. Petrol expensive, alcohol expensive, land/realestate acquisition expensive, bus travel by KSRTC expensive, but free travel for women in Kempu bus and free electricity (here we have to demonstrate empathy because only those likeable by Congress got it) is coming at a cost. Please vote again for Congress, Siddu and DK Shi. Mission of creating a completely bankrupt, communist Karnataka within dominion of India will be complete very soon.

Despite cheap oil from Russia Modi raised fuel tax more than the existing price in spite of not giving Karnataka its rightful share of funds and drought relief funds? Why???…So, protest from congress and all non BJP ruled states is pending posthumously.

Explain to us, how the BJP toppled non BJP governments in the States by procuring MLA's in the multi crores of rupees. Is it not the chaiwala purchased cheap oil from Russia and spent multi crores of money for his BJP's elections propaganda, purchase of MLA's to topple non BJP governments. Highest GST, highest tollgate, highest prices for petrol, diesel and LPG. Where are you? Hum Karem toh balaatkaar aur aap kare toh chamatkaar. Shame, Shame.
