Mangalore, Oct 25: Chief minister Sadananda Gowda (DVS) on Tuesday October 25 said that development work in the state will be carried out on war footing, based on priority. Work on Sampaje-Mane road will be done swiftly and completed within the stipulated time.
Speaking after a meeting with district administration of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada (DK), DVS said that the work on Shiradi Ghat in Bangalore-Mangalore stretch has been unnecessarily delayed due to non-cooperation from the central government, hence, the state government will release funds for now which can be later reimbursed by the centre. The work will be completed by April next year, he assured.
He also promised that potholes on several roads in DK district and Udupi will be filled by the PWD by December. Both zilla panchayat in DK and Udupi have enough funds to provide drinking water and it will be ensure that people do not face from scarcity of water even during the months of February, March and April, he added.
"In Sullia, a 110-KW power line will be set up within a month. Three to Four surveyors will be appointed for the purpose. Also, the vacant posts in ESCOMS will be filled as soon as possible," he said.
He also informed that the Udupi government hospital was still not a 200-bed hospital and action will be taken as per the decision taken in the meeting. There is scarcity of medicines in both the districts, but a decision will be taken on this keeping in view the entire state, he said.
