Mangaluru, Jun 19: “Hindu opposition forces are currently dominating in Ullal, which was previously known as Abbakka's village,” said MP Capt Brijesh Chowta expressing the opinion that activities through temples and initiatives towards religious awakening should empower Hinduism.

The MP and his family visited the prestigious Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple in Ullal to receive blessings and addressed workers on Wednesday June 19.

Capt Chowta said, “In the district, approximately 30% of the population are Muslims, and Hindus in the district are facing various challenges. While in Dakshina Kannada district, everyone comes together in casteless temples, the lesson of excluding various Hindu communities from temples still persists in different districts, which is an injustice to Hinduism. Bars from Kerala have inundated the district's coastline. However, in the model village of Talapady, only about 10% of bars exist. They consider it a model village. With the blessings of the deity and the love and cooperation of the workers, it is possible to achieve any task. Talapady has always been like home to me. I used to go to school here for many years. Due to the temple and fair held annually in the village, I am known here. Talapady village has always been my home. I am thankful to everyone in the village who helped me become a member of the Lok Sabha.”

District BJP President Satish Kumpala said, “As many as 64,000 votes were cast for a BJP candidate for the very first time in Ullal. We are proud to have Capt Chowta as the MP of our village, Talapady. Congratulations to the workers who worked day and night. Capt Chowta aims for the administrative and developmental upliftment of the entire district. The recent unfortunate incident necessitates awareness in every household. It is commendable that many organizations, like Kinya Keshav Balika Mandir, have initiated such initiatives. Expectations among the people of Talapady are high. We all hope for a BJP government in the state, after which a comprehensive development of the village is possible.”

Mangaluru Mandal president Hemant Shetty, District BJP Youth Wing president Nandan Mallya, Mandal vice president K Ravindra Shetty, along with senior leaders Srinivas Nellithaya, Ganesh Bhat, and Dr Mohan Das Rai from Talapady Temple Administration, Rajesh Gudemane, Nityananda Bhandari, Mohan Das Shetty, former president Suresh Alva, Jitendra Shetty Talapady, and Sujith Madhur were present.

Navin Alva, president of Avinashi Mahadev Bhajana Mandali, Narayan Kaje of Keshava Shishu Mandir, Rajesh of Veeranjaneya Vyayama Shala, and Santy Purandar Pujari of Durga Seva Samiti congratulated the newly-elected MP.

Ganesh Kaiyya, vice president of BJP booth unit, Yuvaraj Devanagar, Varun Raj, Santy Purandar Pujari, and others were also present.

It was a religious function, Chowta should have refrained from making communal statements. When the Hindus will realize that Muslims are not a threat but these Sangis are threatening our existence.
