Highly-anticipated Kannada movie ‘Arata’ to release on Jun 21

Mangaluru, Jun 19: The much-awaited Kannada movie ‘Arata’ produced under the PNR Productions banner, is set to hit the screens on June 21 across the coastal regions, as announced by the film's director Pushparaj Rai Malarbeedu during a press conference on Wednesday June 19.

The movie will be released in several theatres including Bharat Cinemas, PVR, and Cinepolis in Mangaluru, Inox and Bharat Cinemas in Manipal, Bharat Cinemas in Padubidri, Puttur, and Udupi, Cine Galaxy in Surathkal, and Sinikrishna in Kasargod. The teaser, trailer, and two songs of the movie have been released through the popular Kannada YouTube channel Anand Audio and have already gained significant public interest.

The film was shot in various locations along the Karnataka-Kerala border, including Mudipu, Anekallu, Uppala, Mangalapady, and Kubanur. The shooting took place over two phases spanning approximately 20 days. Under the PNR banner, producers Raghavendra Holla T, Ramprasad K, Nitesh Madamme, and friends have invested in this film, as stated by actor Jyotish Shetty.

Lead actor Ranjan Kasargod expressed, “The film beautifully captures the essence of the coastal region. The term 'Arata' refers to a vibrant celebration during a temple festival. The entire movie has been shot in the Tulu Nadu region. We invite everyone to watch the movie in theatres.”

The press conference was attended by producer Raghavendra Holla, music director Sameer Mudipu, Sunil Nelligudde, Ranjan Kasargod, Yogesh K N, Jyotish Shetty, and others.

The story of ‘Arata’ is written by Raghavendra Holla, with the screenplay, dialogues, and direction handled by Pushparaj Rai Malarbeedu. The directorial team includes Jayaraj Hejamadi, Roshan R Alva, Harsharaj Bantwal, and Abhi Boliyar, with cinematography by Ravi Suvarna, editing by Damu Kansur, and music by Raghavendra Bijadi and Shameer Mudipu. The lyrics are penned by H S Venkatesh Murthy and Yogesh N, with singers including Shameer Mudipu and Shalini S R. The costume design is by Sharath Poojari from Mangaluru, makeup by Charan Raj Pacchinadka, art direction by Harish Acharya, and still photography by Navaneeth Vithal. The promotional artwork is managed by Yashwin K Shettigar, with production supervision by Bhagyaraaj Naavoor.

The cast includes well-known actor Dadda Praveen, Ranjan Kasargod, Venny Rai, Jyotish Shetty, Sunil Nelligudde, Anil Raj Uppala, Chetan Rai Mani, Ravi Ramakunja, Suresh Manjeshwara, Prabhakar Kasargod, Tejaswini Kishore, Sandeep Bhakt, Asha Marnad, Nayana Salyan, Diksha Bhagyaraj Naavoor, Vinod Shetty Sanketh, Uday Shetty Idya, Utsav Vamanjoor, Tulsidharan, and Shashi Gujaran Padubidri.

The film promises to be a vibrant portrayal of coastal culture and festivities, inviting audiences to experience the charm of Tulunadu on the big screen.
