Mangaluru: Pedestrian succumbs in hospital after tempo hits him

Mangaluru, Jun 20: A pedestrian was killed as he was hit by a tempo at Kucchikadu between Kalpane and Bikkarnakatte on Tuesday.

The deceased is identified as Radhakrishna Rao (65), president of Mangaluru Ramakshatriya Seva Sangha.

Rao, who was seriously injured in the accident was admitted to hospital immediately. However, he succumbed at around 7.45 pm.

Rao served as junior engineer in Mescom Jeppu branch before his retirement. He was president of Sri Harihara Panduranga Vittala Bajana Mandir of Bikkarnakatta and was involved in activities of many organizations.

He is survived by wife, retired teacher Gauri Radhakrishna, son and daughter.
