Kundapur: MLA Gururaj Gantihole holds progress inspection meeting

Kundapur, Jun 21: Progress analysis on Jaljeevan mission was held with officials of Byndoor legislative constituency at the auditorium of Kundapur taluk panchayat. The meeting was presided over by Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole.

Gantihole gathered information on the progress of Jaljeevan Mission from the officials. He also instructed the officials of IRB to take action to resolve issued of national highway soon.

Gantihole said, “Technical obstacles and permission by forest department for the construction of tank and laying pipeline is hindering the work. This should be resolved. Forest department and Revenue department should do a joint survey and eradicate the confusion over deemed forest issues. Engineers of Subhadra Constructions and Jaljeevan Mission should resolve the drinking water issues of all gram panchayats that fall under Byndoor legislative constituency.”

Zilla panchayat engineer Rajkumar said, “We will personally inspect tanker and pipeline issues and get it resolved. At some places though pipeline work under JJM is done, water source and tanker issues are there. Due to certain technical obstacles work is too slow. At some places we need permission from the forest department.”

Gantihole urged presidents, vice presidents, concerned officials and contractors to set right incomplete works under JJM at Hemmady, Hallihole, Aaloor, Bollamballi, Amparu, Vandse, Idoor, Hosadu, Trasi, Tallur, Uppunda, Idoor Kunjadi, Yalajit, Golihole, Jadkal, Shiroor villages.

Unscientific work of highway and service roads, systematic underground drainage passing and issues of bus shelters for passengers were brought to the notice of the MLA. Presidents of gram panchayats took to task officials of IRB. MLA gave 10 days deadline to resolve highway issues. Byndoor EO Bharati was present.

In total 220 tankers have to be built under JJM by Subhadra Constructions. Only 60 are completed and another 60 are pending as forest department has not given the go ahead. The work of 100 more tankers is yet to begin.
