Mangaluru: Investiture ceremony held at St Aloysius College Higher Primary School

Mangaluru, Jun 23: The election for the school pupil leader (SPL) of St Aloysius College Higher Primary School was held, with candidates Aaron Dsouza, Bhavish M J, Lionel Shawn, Mayola Pinto, Rishon D'Sa, Riyan D'Silva, Sanjana, and Sara Yashal contesting for the position.

Bhavish M J emerged victorious and was elected as the SPL, Rishon D'Sa as ASPL and Mayola Primal Pinto as secretary for the academic year 2024-25.


The investiture ceremony took place on June 22, marking a significant occasion for the newly elected school cabinet leaders. The event commenced with a prayer song. Anisha of class 7 extended a cordial welcome to the audiences.

The correspondent, Fr John D'Souza SJ welcomed the chief guest, Avinash Daniel Dsouza with a sapling as a gesture of respect and appreciation.

Poornima Mayya highlighted the significance of the investiture ceremony. Anit Bindu introduced the chief guest.

Avinash, an alumnus of the school, nostalgically recalled his school days and expressed his pride in returning as a chief guest. He thanked the teachers for their unwavering support and guidance, attributing his success to the opportunities provided at St Aloysius Primary School. He encouraged the new cabinet members to adhere to five key principles- goal-oriented, respect and responsibility, encouragement, approachable and teamwork.

Following his inspiring speech, the physical educator called the new cabinet members to the stage.

Headmistress Jositta Noronha led the oath-taking ceremony, where the school cabinet leaders pledged to shoulder their responsibilities with fidelity and loyalty towards the welfare of the students and the school.

The correspondent, headmistress, chief guest, and in-charge teachers then honoured the leaders with badges and sashes. In his address, the correspondent emphasised that "Great leaders are not born; they are made." He reminded the students that they were elected because their peers recognised their leadership qualities. He encouraged them to dream big and work towards fulfilling those dreams without compromise.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Raynel Evan and Rishi Kotian. The programme was compered by Akshaj N Pai and Dilon Furtado. The ceremony concluded with the school anthem, sung by the new cabinet members, symbolising unity and the beginning of a new chapter in their leadership journey.
