Taliban Commander Killed in Afghanistan


Kabul, Oct 26 (IANS): A key Taliban commander, Mullah Barat, was killed Wednesday in Afghanistan, the interior ministry said.

Barat was killed in Uruzgan province, 370 km south of Kabul, Xinhua reported.

He was accompanied by two of his men, who were also killed.

The ministry said Barat was in charge of organising attacks on security forces in the province and surrounding areas.
