Kundapur, Jun 25: The body of Yogeesh, a native of Tiptur, who went missing after being swept away at Beejadi beach, was discovered by fishermen in Karwar a week later.

Yogeesh, an ITI student, and his friend Sandeep had come to Kundapur to attend a relative's wedding on Wednesday. After the function, they visited Beejadi beach for a swim. While playing in the sea, the two got into trouble; Sandeep was rescued by locals, but Yogeesh went missing.

Despite efforts by the Kundapur police, coast guard personnel, and diving experts, they were unable to locate Yogeesh’s body. A missing person case was registered following the incident. Tragically, his mortal remains were eventually found by fishermen off the coast of Karwar, bringing a sombre end to the search.

Kundapur: Youth's body still missing five days after being washed away at beach

Kundapur, Jun 25: The search for T R Yogeesh (23), a native of Tiptur taluk in Tumakuru district, who was swept away by high waves while swimming at Beejadi beach here, has entered its fifth day with no success. Despite relentless efforts, the police have not yet found his mortal remains.

The search operation has been hampered by the challenging conditions in the Arabian Sea, where large and violent waves have made it difficult to use boats. High-velocity winds have further complicated rescue efforts, making it dangerous to conduct searches from the water.

Local residents along the coastline have been urged to inform the authorities immediately if they come across any sign of the youth's body. The search has extended from Gangolli to Kodi and Beejadi using small boats, and on Sunday, local fishermen in Trasi reported seeing a floating body. However, by the time rescue personnel reached the location by boat, the body had disappeared.

On Sunday, fire service personnel from Kundapur conducted extensive searches for the remains, and on Monday, a police team from Kundapur travelled to Bhatkal to search the beaches there. Despite these efforts, the youth remains missing, and the search continues in the hopes of finding closure for his family.

so many people have lost their lives in the beaches of dk and mostly in malpe..still the administration is not serious to prevent such happenings...this cannot be imagined in western or even gulf countries...the beach guards are so alert and strict...anyone defying their orders is arrested....i dont blame the ghatta people as they get excited seeing the sea as they have never seen it.....but it is just futile to write these things in third world country..where cows are more valuable than humans...RIP young man
