Bangalore: And Now FIR Filed Against Deve Gowda

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Oct 27: The alleged irregularities relating to awarding of work contracts on piecemeal basis in Krishna Upper Bank Project have started to haunt former Prime Minister (PM), Deve Gowda, again. The charges of irregularities relating to this project, which had made headlines over a decade back, had died down thereafter. The issue has now got a new lease of life, and this is sure to give sleepless nights to Deve Gowda, who claims himself to be a strong denouncer of scams and irregularities. Gowda’s protracted legal battle against Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises is well known.]

The personnel of the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) filed a First Information Report relating to the scam in Vidhana Soudha police station here on Wednesday October 26. The department had investigated the allegation that Deve Gowda, who was the Chief Minister (CM) of the state, had cleared hundreds of files overnight relating to the above project, before he became the PM. The total amount involved in the alleged scam is around Rs 400 crore.

Deputy commissioner of police of central division, Ramesh, confirmed that FIR had been filed as above. The FIR, it is learnt, has just mentioned that officials, contractors, non-official persons, staff members, and others, who functioned in the state between 1995 and 1998 were involved with the scam, without giving individual names.

The Krishna Upper Bank Project, which was meant to irrigate 6,220 sq km of drought-hit areas of some north Karnataka districts, had been taken up in two phases. The works were allotted overnight, as Deve Gowda, who was chosen as the new Prime Minister of the country, was in a hurry to leave for New Delhi.  It is said that he ignored advice from his colleagues to call for tenders before approving piecemeal contract files. Allegedly, he had increased the total outlay of certain works from Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 5 crore, without following rules. There had been allegations that about Rs 400 crore was released to private contractors then in the name of the above project.

A house committee with 14 members had been formed later, to look into the allegations. The committee, after going into the details, had recommended inquiry by Central Bureau of Investigation. The then Chief Minister, J H Patel, did not agree with this recommendation, and formed another committee. Vyjanath Patil, who was the chairmen of the Estimates Committee of the legislature, had also thrown light on the irregularities. The government thereafter, formed a committee of four retired officers for investigating the allegations, but the committee did not submit any report.

After Yeddyurappa became the Chief Minister, he said he planned to hand over the investigation to CBI, by taking up the report of the house committee afresh. The case was later handed over to CID.

That's why this old man was going to 10 Janpath many times. As a PM he used to go to 10 Janpath prostate before the gates and then go to his office and sleep. Somebody had commented at that time - this man is not fit even to become a Panchayat Member - how come he has become PM? Once a team of 12 MPs from Punjab came to his office for some presentation. While doing the presentation one of them discovered that this Man Deve Gowda, the PM of India, was sleeping instead of listening to their presentation, and they hurriedly left his office.

Later on this man tells his Secretary that "actually he was not sleeping, but was in deep thinking how to improve the living standsards of poor indians". He is very cunning and corrupt till his neck. He is the same man who stomach stabbed his political guru i.e. MR. Rama Krishna Hegde. He has also released a licence for Petrol Pump to his sister-in-law while he was PM, saying that she has no other income. Now look at the total wealth of this man's family. He also met Mr. Qattrochi's son in Tamil Nadu, recently - you can gues the motive. This is the story of Mr. Deve Gowda - the cunning, corrupt and foul mouthed man. He has disgraced the name of Kannadiga with his cheap deeds as PM.

Only catcing these unscrupulous fellows and putting behind the bar will not serve the purpose.
They should be punished severally and should not be provided any facility in Jail...like an ordinary Kaidi(Goonda) they should be treated and the most important thing is that their money earned illegally shoud be deposited in an separate account and it has to be used as substitute against TAX and for the welfare of the poor people of India/Karnataka.Putting into the jail and coming out is a fashion now with out effective treatment. The Law also has to be amended accordingly.

JDS did not think before doing the same thing to BJP leaders. Now they say this is revenge from BJP. They should know if Mr, Yeddi takes revenge on these people everybody would be in jail including Kumaraswamy.
Now they panic because when they show one finger at BJP leaders other three fingers pointing at them.

In India we have started seeing many arrests of the high and mighty but somehow these persons use their political clout and money power to influence various officials and somehow go scot free or receive punishment must lesser than the crime committed.
We hope the police in India now on begin to do a proper investigation job and dont relent to political pressure so that the FIR results in a proper conviction and sentencing for the accused if they are truly guilty.
Similarly, we hope the judiciary impart proper justice free from any influence.
No one should be allowed to be above the law ! It is not about politics or BJP or Congress or JD(S) or BSP or SP or CPI. It is about right and wrong. It is about our nation which we must protect from wrong doers.
