CBI arrests Delhi CM Kejriwal in liquor policy case

New Delhi, Jun 26 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, who was produced before the Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday, was formally arrested by the CBI in the alleged liquor policy scam case.

Permission was granted to the CBI to produce CM Kejriwal in the special court on Wednesday, after he was questioned by the agency in Tihar Jail.

In a related development, CM Kejriwal withdrew his plea filed before the Supreme Court challenging the interim stay ordered by the Delhi High Court on his release on bail in the money laundering case linked to the same case.

Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing the AAP supremo, submitted before a Vacation Bench of Justices Manoj Misra and SVN Bhatti that a fresh plea would be moved before the apex court in view of the latest decision of the Delhi High Court staying the trial court order granting bail to CM Kejriwal in the money laundering case.

In its final verdict pronounced on a plea filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Delhi High Court on Tuesday said that the trial court Vacation Bench did not apply its mind to the entire material and it ought to give equal opportunity to the ED to argue the bail application.

The present Govt only taking advantages of CBI and ED you can see how Modi got only 240 seat this is the reason. What about Modi diamond merchant Mallya what he is doing? All Bank money lent in good faith. Why cant they sit on table and talk to them face to face and solve the problems.? They can pay on installment or can reduce the Bank interest etc.

The commentators here tend to forget that it was the Bhaima Congress that blew the whistle on this so called 'poor guy'. RaGA and Priynaka Vadra repeatedly screamed how corrupt AK and Delhi Govt was. Subsequently the investigation authorities landed and unearthed this scam with full evidence of misappropriation of liquor licenses and funds. AK was summoned 9 times and he ignored it. His partners in this crime confessed. So eventually he was arrested as per the law of the land. No use blaming Modi now.

Krejriwal, Kiran Bedi and Anna Hazare have protested at RamLeela Maidan in the year 2011-2013 during the UPA's rule. Their protest was against corruption. My opinion says any individual corrects himself of wrong doings, without corruption, and acts as per the rule of law and lives according to the constitution are good citizens. The law enforcement and judiciary should be given free hand. Unless the citizens are not adhering to this the nation cannot make progress. THE POLITICAL PARTIES ARE CERTAINLY CORRUPT BECAUSE WITHOUT CORRUPTION THEY CANN

I don't understand why you have sympathy on Kejri and feeling that Modi is wrong in arresting the corrupt. Do you think Kejri, Manish Sisodia, Kavitha all are innocent and Modi is at fault Langoo bhai?

Political life of great leaders have seen jail terms for stellar national causes... Here so many leaders are put behind and are not able to walk free any soon... This is the least reason whatever that must be allowed to use against oneself... Feel sorry for my opinion if it is really a witch hunt... But on the face of it public minds are fully confused why on corruption so many were arrested...
