Udupi: Religious Rituals, Ardour Mark Deepavali Celebrations at Krishna Mutt

Udupi, Oct 27: Naraka Chathurdashi, Balindra Puja among other religious rituals were performed on the occasion of Deepavali at the famous Krisha Mutt situated in the temple town here on Wednesday October 26.
After the Chathurdashi on Chandrodaya awaiting the arrival of Amavasye, the seers performed oil bath ritual. The Shiroor Mutt seers splashed the oil to Kaaniyooru and Sodhe Mutt seers and conducted the ritual of oil bath early in the morning at 5.33 am.
As always, large number of devotees gathered on the occasion. The Shiroor Mutt seer bursted the chain of crackers and wished happy Deepavali to all.
Balindra Puja was performed later in the evening. Near the Kanaka Gopura a massive Rangoli of Balindra was made. Later the Balindra puja rituals were conducted and prasadh was distributed to the devotees.
On Thursday, October 27 morning, Go Puja (rituals for Cows) was performed, in front of Krishna Mutt. The Angadi Puja too was held in the shops of the region which were beautifully decked with flowers to give a perfect festive look.
