Udupi, Jun 29: "The construction of Indrali bridge will be completed within 2 months," announced Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency, during his visit to the Indrali vehicular bridge on Saturday June 29.

Addressing the media regarding the progress of the Indrali bridge and Santhekatte underpass, Kota Poojary stated, "I understand the plight of the people and students. I have asked the officials to complete the work within two months. Due to rain, there may be a delay of 15 days or so, but not more than that. We held a meeting yesterday in the presence of the deputy commissioner along with National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials and have urged them to clear the stones and construct the service roads properly in the most needed areas quickly. By January 2025, the complete construction of the vehicular overpass in Santhekatte must be completed, and the central minister of road transport and highway Nitin Gadkari has said that he will inaugurate the road."

When asked about the political situation in Karnataka, Kota Poojary remarked, "The political anarchy has confused the people of the state. If this continues, there is no doubt about the fall of the government."

He further addressed the NEET examination scam in the country, stating, "We have already lodged a complaint with the CID, and I am confident they will take up the issue seriously and handle the case judiciously, without any bias."

Yashpal Suvarna, MLA of Udupi, also spoke to the media, saying, “The state government has proven to be against the rise in the price of petrol and diesel and is not providing the necessary grants to those who rely on horticulture. We have already protested against this. There are numerous misunderstandings within the government, which have made it weak. I request the chief minister of Karnataka to provide funds to the poor farmers rather than engaging in various unnecessary corrupt practices. The chief minister visited the district and held a meeting regarding its development. Even the district in-charge minister held a meeting about the district’s development, but they seemed to be only meetings as no further actions were taken considering the people's interests. People have trusted and chosen them as their leaders. I hope they will not misuse their power and respond to the people’s problems.”

Students and teachers, along with the headmaster of Indrali English Medium School, submitted a request letter to the MP concerning the construction of a proper road to the school, as the existing roads have been severely damaged and students struggle to reach the school, especially during the rainy season.

National Highway Authority officials, workers, engineers, and members of the BJP were present.
