Kundapur, Jun 29: In a heart-breaking incident, two children tragically lost their lives after accidentally slipping and falling into a lake at Nandrolli, within the Bellala panchayat jurisdiction of Kollur police station limits.

The victims have been identified as Dhanraj Sathish (13) and Chaya Sathish (7) who were pursuing their studies at a school in Vandse. Their mother, Sheela (34), and father, Sathish Madivala, are currently in critical condition and receiving treatment at Kundapur hospital. It is reported that Sheela's condition has shown signs of improvement, but she remains under close medical supervision.

Jaya from Chittor Madhar Ambulance Service, along with Ramachandra and Dinesh from the 112 emergency services, swiftly arrived at the scene to provide assistance.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident may have been a suicide attempt by the family.

Former MLA Sukumar Shetty visited the hospital to offer his support and condolences to the grieving family.
